cardboard backing, found after all the refund forms are taken from a tear pad, usually says "sorry" and explains where to write to get a form
C/O
cents off coupons or cash offs, the kind you use at the checkout counter to get a discount on a product you are buying
CPNS 
another term for coupons, (see c/o)
CRTC
cash register tape with price circled
CODES
some refund forms require the upc number (code) to be copied from the product package, usually a spray can or container without any way to "cut" the upc from the package
COUFUND
a coupon that requires proofs of purchase to be attached to it, used at the checkout counter
CODE/TAPE OFFER
a refund requiring no proof of purchase other than a code number copied from the package and/or cash register receipt
COUPON QUEEN/KING
a person who has mastered the hobby of making the most of coupons, refunds, etc
C/R, COUPONER / REFUNDER
a person who's hobby is to use coupons and refunds to stretch their budget and get great values
DCRT
dated cash register tape
DOUBLING, TRIPLING
when a store will double or triple the value of a coupon if you use them on the specified products
EPOP
each pay own postage, meaning you pay the postage to mail items to the person you are trading with and they pay the postage to mail items to you, usually each will agree on a certain amount to keep everything even
EXCHANGES
a place where you can send the required items to get back different items, usually run by an exchange operator who will tell of the rules, requirements, and their fee for doing the exchange, exchanges are only as good as the items sent in for exchange, operator cannot return what is not received
F
form or refund form, also called rebate form, the piece of paper which tells what is required by a manufacturer in order to get something back from them for purchasing their products
FIC
free item coupon, a coupon sent to you by a manufacturer as a refund for purchasing their product, usually for a full size product free at the checkout, you still have to pay the tax
FREE 

SPREE
term used when everything you purchase in one shopping trip is all free, can be done by saving all your free item coupons for a length of time then using them all at once, also by using doubled or tripled coupons, every couponer/refunder wants as many free sprees as possible
GOOD DEAL ALERT
when you find a combination of sale, coupon, and/or refund which is an exceptionally good value, usually gets a free item from the combination, the alert part is when you want to let other refunders know where you found the deal so they can look for it too
HBA
health and beauty aids (medications, shampoos, deodorants, etc)
HMF
health monitor form, found at the blood pressure machine in stores
HT or HgT
hang tag, form found hangaing from products in the store
H/F
handling fee, small amount of money, a qualifier, or something else used for paying someone for their time and effort
LSASE
long, self-addressed, stamped envelope
XLSASE
extra large, self-addressed, stamped envelope
LSA(2)SE
long, self-addressed, envelope with 2 stamps, (note-only the first stamp needs to be .37, any other stamp needs only to be .23 because only the first ounce of postage is .37, each additional ounce is .23)
LTD
limited, offer is restricted to a certain area or state
M5M
Marlboro Miles, the proof of purchase from Marlboro cigarettes, used to be MUM Marlboro "unlimited" Miles, and MCM, Marlboro "country store" miles both of which are no longer of any use. Marlboro is introducing another NEW proof currently, and the current catalog expiring 9/03 will be the last to use the M5M's

money plus, any offer that looks like a refund but requires cash to be sent as part of the deal, this does not refer to forms which require you to pay postage on items to be mailed to you (note-money plus forms are considered "junk" by most refunders so do not trade them, you will only get an angry response)

on any size which refers to a coupon redeemable on any size of the product stated, best if used on the smallest size available to get the best advantage of using them

on any variety which refers to one product but may have different flavors or scents

one for one, an even exchange of one item for one item, (send 10 get 10 back etc)
PHCD
phone card, calling card
POP
proof of purchase, also known as qualifier, the part which qualifies you to get the refund
PP
purchase price, some refunds say they will refund your purchase price

postage and handling
PREMIUM
a gift received as a refund such as a toy, t-shirt, or other item which is not a coupon or check
Q
qualifier or proof of purchase, could be anything off the package but is usually the upc
WISHLIST
(I wish I had these), also known as request list, a list of items you are seeking and is usually organized by name, expiration date, etc and sent with your trades, used by the recipient to make up a good return trade to you
RMC
Refunding Makes Cents = refunding magazine dedicated to refund related items. Majority of items in the magazine is sent in by subscribers, gives credits toward your next subscription for various contributions and for referring new subscribers, valuable source of information about current refund offers, people willing to make trades, problem traders, honor roll traders, organizing tips, stories about free sprees, etc, for more information please ask any subscriber 
   
ROUND 

ROBIN
group of people who make trade among themselves, the first person fills an envelope of their unwanted items and sends it to the next person, that next person takes out what they want to keep, replaces them with their unwanted items and sends it to the next person, the processes is repeated until it returns to the first person where it starts all over again

self-addressed envelope, no postage required

store form, the kind found on tear pads in stores
SMP
specially marked package, a refund form is found either on the package or packed inside
SNIPS
small pieces are "snipped" from the package, usually from a plastic cap from spray cans
SS
form found in the Sunday suppliment coupon section
SWEEPS
sweepstakes form, usually not traded as a coupon or form, considered junk by most refunders
TEAR PAD
a pad of forms found on display at the store, from shelves, or on bulletin boards
TOB
tobacco
TRACINGS
a tracing taken from a package as proof of purchase, very little if any of this type qualifier is used anymore
TRADING FAMILY
a group of persons who trade on a regular basis, usually includes person with "different" needs to make the trades work better, for example a trading family may include a family with small children, a senior citizen with a pet, a family with teenagers, etc, by having persons with different needs there is always items unwanted by one which are valuable by others in the group
TRIPLE 

PLAY
refers to when an item is bought on sale, you have a coupon on that purchase, and you have a refund on the same purchase, it is the goal of all refunders to score as many triple plays as possible, a DOUBLE PLAY is any combination of two of the above
UPC
universal product code, the little black stripe lines with numbers written under them
VS

3=1, 4=2, etc 
three items count as 1 item, 4 items count as 2 items, etc, usually used for small value items in trade for higher value items
WUP
write up, tells about a refund and where to send for it, usually no form is required to get the offer
